Steven Gerrard’s short stay at Aston Villa has been nothing short of brilliant, and the Englishman seems determined to make things even better as he eyes several talents this coming summer.

The 41-year old reportedly has his sights set on his former midfielder at Rangers, Joe Aribo, who allegedly (according to allnigeriasoccer.com) wants out of Scotland before his contract with the Gers ends next year.

The 25-year old is on the want list of several premier league clubs, among them his former manager, Gerrard’s Villa, and Rangers have priced him at 5 million pounds, which is obviously within the EPL side’s budget.

Back in October, Gerrard expressed his satisfaction with the Nigerian after the midfielder’s performance when his side faced off against Brondby in the Europa League. “…he is a great kid…he wants to learn,” the then Rangers coach had praised.

Steve’s earlier description of the Rangers’ No. 17 proved his understanding of the latter, who might perhaps choose them over the likes of Palace, Watford, and Brentford come the summer transfer.

With more than 20 goals in 127 appearances for his current team, Aribo will without a doubt be a great addition to any side he chooses to join, and the Lions’ coach knows that well enough to fight for him.
