Rangers ace expected to complete move abroad, bid already accepted – report
Scott Wright is expected to complete a move away from Rangers and sign for Pendikspor in Turkey after holding further talks, report Football Scotland.
Writing on their official website (1 August), the Scottish news outlet reports that the player is still expected to leave Ibrox this summer despite no further developments recently.
Wright was said to have travelled to Turkey for a second time to hold further talks about a move after a £500k bid was accepted last month, but despite a lack of updates the move is still expected to take place.
“There’s been no further news on Scott Wright who is expected to complete a move to Pendikspor after travelling out to Turkey for a second time to hold talks,” they wrote.
There’s nothing against Wright at all, he’s always given his all for the club and earned his place in the team when he played.
But at the point we’re at now, it’s quite clear that he is way down the pecking order at Ibrox under Michael Beale and an exit would not only be good for him but also for Rangers.
After a big outlay on transfers this summer, getting a player who is clearly not in the manager’s plans off the books makes a lot of sense and also brings in some cash to help balance the books and potentially go towards helping the club bring in anyone else before the window closes.
Talks are ongoing and its understandable as it will be a big move for the player to move abroad and try something completely new.
So it’s great for all to hear that the deal is expected to go through, and Rangers fans can look forward to a new era of attackers at Ibrox.
