Rangers player to leave club permanently ‘in coming days’ – report
Glen Kamara is set to leave Rangers to join Leeds United in the “coming days” as a deal edges closer to being agreed, report Last Word on Sports.
Writing on their official website (23 August), the news outlet report that the Finland international will put pen-to-paper on a deal at Elland Road this week.
Reports earlier in the window suggested the player has already agreed personal terms ahead of the move, and Leeds are set to pay £5.5m to sign the 26-year-old midfielder.
“Last Word on Football understands from sources that Leeds United are set to sign Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara “in coming days” as the situation heats up,” they wrote.
“That leaves the only stumbling block being personal terms, which are unlikely to be a major issue.”
This has been the longest running transfer saga of the summer for Rangers which is crazy when you consider how many players have come in or left Ibrox already.
It’s been clear for a while now that Kamara’s future at the club doesn’t exist and that he is free to leave, but the club have been adamant that they get a fee that reflects his value and it seems now that they are finally going to get that.
With two years remaining on his contract it’s the perfect time for him to move on and for Rangers to cash in, so it’s good to see that everyone is on the same page with that.
Kamara has been training alone and hasn’t made a match-day squad yet this season under Michael Beale, with the boss revealing he would “definitely” be leaving.
It’s now a matter of time before the i’s are dotted and the t’s are crossed, and we can thank Kamara for his shift at the club.
