On Saturday, Steven Gerrard’s side is in for a tough match as they face second-placed Hearts at home in their Scottish Premier League. Rangers must get at least a draw to keep their lead, which means they must be in top form.

Since the international break has just ended, some teams will play without some of their players, especially those who travelled far for their international duties. Roofe was also expected to miss out on his Rangers game against Hearts on Saturday, but that fear is now forgotten as he is expected to reach Scotland in time for the match.

Fresh from a great show at Rangers this season, the 28-year old Jamaican went on to score his first international goal for Jamaica when they beat Honduras 2-0 in today’s World Cup qualifiers.

The former Anderlecht player’s availability this Saturday was doubted as reported by The Scottish Sun. Podcaster Edgar however said “unless there are severe travel delays, he will be back and available for Saturday,” casting the availability doubts out the window.

That doesn’t mean Roofe will definitely play though, as Edgar revealed that whether or not the Jamaican features will be decided by Gerrard or other unexpected occurrences.

Rangers lead the league table standings, but their victories this season haven’t been that convincing, and they’ll have to work extra hard if they want to beat Hearts, who haven’t lost a single league game this season.

Roofe will be an important ace whether he starts on the field or the bench because he has scored some vital goals for Rangers this season and his form will be needed.
