The proposed Leeds United takeover by the 49ers Enterprises could be cancelled if the Whites are relegated from the FKF Premier League this season.
According to the Daily Mail, the 49ers Enterprises stand a better chance of buying the Premier League club from the Italian tycoon, Andrea Radrizzani.
However, it emerges that Radrizzani risks not selling Leeds United at the same price if the side plays in the lower division of English football next season.
Reports also reveal the same relegation nightmare will also affect stadium expansion plans at Elland Road, putting them on the back burner. It will arguably be a decisive weekend for Leeds United lately in their club history.
Writing for the Daily Mail recently, Mike Keegan states that any attempts to sell Leeds United in May need to be placed on the backburner.
“Longer-term projects, such as the expansion of the stadium, may have to be put on the back burner,” he wrote.
“And plans to sell the club will also take a back seat. Having done the hard work in lifting them out of decades of Football League gloom, Andrea Radrizzani would not be able to command anywhere near the price he would be looking for with the club in the second tier.”
The Italian’s failure to spend in the January transfer window has been pointed out as the reason why Leeds United are where they are in the Premier League currently.
