Dean Henderson has been listed for transfer by Manchester United, with Nottingham Forest and Tottenham believed to be interested in acquiring the player.
According to The Mirror, a total of 13 players will be allowed to leave Old Trafford this summer as Erik ten Hag rebuilds the squad.
Despite Ten Hag speaking positively about Henderson during the season, the 26-year-old goalkeeper has been included in the list of players to be transferred.
Henderson has been on loan at Nottingham Forest since the beginning of the season, where he quickly became the first-choice goalkeeper alongside Wayne Hennessey.
Prior to suffering a season-ending injury in January, Henderson made 20 appearances for Forest, but he tore his thigh while taking a routine goal-kick against Leicester City.
Since Forest’s promotion to the Premier League almost a year ago, Steve Cooper has expressed interest in signing Henderson, along with Morgan Gibbs-White, as part of his mission to secure survival.
It appears that Manchester United is not particularly keen on keeping Henderson, which is a pleasing prospect for Forest.
Several high-profile players are expected to leave Manchester United this summer. However, it is uncertain whether Forest will successfully secure the signing of Henderson, as their Premier League status is still uncertain.
Henderson has expressed his enjoyment of his time at Forest and openly spoken about it, indicating his strong connection with the club.
Henderson’s passion for football has been revitalized at the City Ground following a frustrating 2021/22 season.
During his time at Sheffield United, Henderson received praise from Sander Berge, who described him as “insane,” further enhancing his desirability to potential suitors.
Forest will likely be among the contenders to sign Henderson this summer, but their ability to do so will depend on their retention of Premier League status.
