Report: Farhad Moshiri in talks for £9 million attacker despite Benitez’s reluctance

The details appear to be tricky, as Farhad Moshiri, not Rafa Benitez, appears to be in charge of the Everton negotiations.

Anwar El Ghazi is said to be on his way to Goodison Park, most likely on loan.

The El Ghazi reports have been gaining traction all day as the Lucas Digne transfer crisis appears to be nearing to a close and he appears to be joining Aston Villa soon.

Farhad Moshiri appears to have coordinated the sale through Kia Joorabchian, a close friend and El Ghazi’s representative. I assume this is a loan agreement, not a permanent one, and it is unrelated to the Digne move.

What makes the agreement further stranger is the fact that Everton boss Rafa Benitez does not want El Ghazi to join the team this window.

Close contact of the Toffees club officials revealed the news on a live Everton Twitter account, as seen below:

Many doubts have been raised against Benitez at the moment, but the owner undermining him for this trade would undoubtedly cause big upheaval in the hierarchy.

This will be a fascinating situation in the coming weeks, and Benitez’s pre-Norwich press conference will be crucial in determining whether or not a deal has been reached.
