Steven Bergwijn and Lucas Moura of Tottenham Hotspur are both doubtful for Saturday’s Premier League match against Chelsea after suffering injuries in Thursday’s disappointing 2-2 Europa League tie with Rennes.

Dutch winger Bergwijn had to leave the contest on the half-hour mark after suffering an injury, and soon after Brazilian winger Moura joined him on the Tottenham injured list.

The pair join striker Son Heung-min, defenders Eric Dier and Ryan Sessegnon on the injured list, with defender Japhet Tanganga suspended.

“It feels painful, it feels really bad,” Spurs manager Nuno Espirito Santo told reporters. “They are being taken care of by the medical department, but it’s been tough. It’s been terrible. I must be honest.”

In 2019, Tottenham Hotspur made it to the Champions League final. This season, they are playing in the Europa League after finishing seventh in last year’s Premier League campaign.

“This is football and we know it’s a moment we have to overcome,” Nuno added.

Spurs lost their first match last weekend against Crystal Palace, moving to seventh place in the premier league table.
