The Hammers have launched a €25 million (£21 million) bid for Reims attacker Hugo Ekitike, according to Le10Sport.
Ekitike has piqued the interest of several during the current transfer window. Tottenham and Newcastle have also been on his radar, and it’s easy to see why so many English clubs are interested in signing this young talent.
He has scored eight goals in just 18 league games so far this season, and at 19, he still has room to improve.
The forward has previously been characterized as a’very unique’ player, with comparisons to Kylian Mbappe, demonstrating just how highly regarded this young player is.
This is West Ham’s second attempt to sign Ekitike this month, but it may not be enough. After all, his asking price has been reported to be £30 million in the past.
This month, West Ham would benefit greatly from the arrival of a new striker. Michail Antonio is the Hammers’ lone senior number nine, and even he admits that the team should use a new center-forward.
Fortunately, it appears like the London club is eager to complete the deal, and we may see some progress in the coming days.
