Due to his apparent desire to play in Europe, West Ham are said to be the frontrunners in the race to sign Fiorentina defender Nikola Milenkovic.
It has been rumored for a long time that West Ham are interested in signing Milenkovic. It is true that they were keeping an eye on him back in January, but nothing came of it.
The Hammers aren’t the only ones interested in signing the Serbian player. Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United are two other English clubs that have expressed an interest.
When it comes to Serie A clubs, Inter Milan has already proven themselves to be serious contenders. But it appears that Simone Inzaghi’s side are now targeting Torino’s Gleison Bremer as their new target instead.
West Ham and Milenkovic have recently been linked once again. A gentleman’s agreement was reached between Fiorentina and Milenkovic before the player recently extended his contract for another year.
Fiorentina, on the other hand, appears to be willing to let the defender leave in the summer.
On top of that, it appears as though West Ham are in the driver’s seat for his signature right now. According to Corriere Fiorentino, Milenkovic hopes to play European football.
For most of the season, West Ham has been in the mix for a top-four finish. They’re currently seventh in the table, which means they’ll be eligible for the Europa Conference League or higher if they finish the season strong.
