The Times news outlet has reported that Tottenham Hotspur have agreed a £25m deal with Brighton and Hove Albion for the signing of midfielder Yves Bissouma.
It is also said that Spurs ‘will agree’ on personal terms with the Mali international while a medical is scheduled for this week.
The Times also reports that both English Premier League heavyweights, Liverpool and Arsenal, had an interest in the West African in the 2021 summer, while Aston Villa tried to seal the deal for the player in demand in January.
Bissouma has been on top of his game for the Seagulls in English football recently, proving to be an essential individual player in the middle of the park for Brighton.
He will add value to Antonio Conte’s charges, who have already signed goalkeeper Fraser Forster and winger/wing-back Ivan Perisic as free agents this summer.
Conte is on a rebuilding mission at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium after helping them secure a place in next season’s UEFA Champions League contests.
Bissouma is well conversant with physical English football and will arguably fit in well at Tottenham Hotspur and the system of play associated with manager Antonio Conte.
Elsewhere, Dejan Kulusevski is said to be ready to welcome a move to Tottenham Hotspur as a free agent in the transfer market.
