Tottenham Hotspur are ready to offer a player-plus-cash to lure Inter Milan defender Alessandro Bastoni to the English Premier League, CalcioMercatoWeb states.
Spurs are said to be lining up a combination of a £26m fee and Davinson Sanchez for Bastoni.
The Antonio Conte-coached side have had 23-year-old Bastoni on their radar since the end of the season.
Conte is a big fan of Bastoni as the pair worked together at San Siro previously, and the Italian tactician would cherish a reunion with the defender at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium next season.
After securing a place in European football next season, Spurs will arguably need a left-sided defender to act as a substitute for Ben Davies, with Bastoni emerging as the best option.
Tottenham are also reported to be closely monitoring Pau Torres and Josko Gvardiol’s situations and the possibility of finalising the deal.
It is also said Bastoni has already communicated his intentions to leave for a new challenge elsewhere, with his price tag estimated to be £50 million this summer.
On the other hand, Sanchez has failed to meet the expectations at Tottenham Hotspur since arriving from Ajax. Inter Milan will, however, be forced to gamble on the Colombian international if Bastoni leaves the Serie A club in the window.
