Japhet Tanganga’s summer transfer from Spurs to AFC Bournemouth has been declined, but AC Milan are now thought to be interested in taking the player on loan.
The Rossoneri are still interested in signing Tanganga, and Antonio Conte’s team is willing to loan the England youth international to another team for the current campaign. The 23-year-old is expected to spend next year as a back-up center-back.
Tanganga won’t get much playing time with the current squad, and Milan might be an option for the Premier League defender after Tottenham acquired Clement Leglet on loan from FC Barcelona and Cristian Romero on a permanent basis this summer.
According to the source, Milan see themselves as the favourites to recruit Tanganga after both he and Spurs turned down an offer from Scott Parker’s Bournemouth.
The centre-back appeared unwilling to sign with a team that would likely be fighting for safety next season.
Tanganga will undoubtedly be difficult for Milan to acquire permanently given Tottenham’s rumoured £21 million asking price, but now that a loan offer is an option for the Rossoneri, the Serie A powerhouses may be able to get the Premier League player for the remainder of the season.
