West Ham united face a difficult season ahead as they will  be looking to repeat last season’s success and qualify for European football once again.

Manager David Moyes joined the club mid-season and managed to pull out outstanding performances from his players, bringing the once struggling club all the way to sixth place by the end of the campaign making them eligible to compete for silverware in next season’s Europa League.

But can David Moyes and his side repeat the success this campaign when they are still yet to really bolster their squad with big signings, while the big boys of the Premier League are all breaking the bank in order to get additions they feel will help push them on.

Goalkeeper Alphonse Areola has signed from Paris Saint-Germain on a season loan, while defender Craig Dawson joined permanently to give them more options.

The club has also seen several exits this summer with Fabian Balbuena joining Dynamo Moscow on a free transfer and Felipe Anderson joining Lazio after being out on loan at Porto last season.

Loanee Jesse Lingard who was undoubtedly an influential figure down the stretch to ensure The Hammers made it to the Europa League doesn’t look to be joining the club this season and that could be a major blow.

Moyes will be hoping that Said Benrahma will reach the expected heights and fill Jesse Lingard’s boots.

However, a big boost and more important than any signing is the fact that midfielder Declan Rice is back in east London and training with the club after a successful Euro 2020 campaign and has not made any demands to leave the club amidst interests from Chelsea and Manchester United.

Much like last season, West Ham have a smaller squad compared to most, and will need to avoid any injury issues to achieve another successful season which includes Michail Antonio who is the only established forward in the team.
