Paris St Germaine opened talks with the world champion over a year ago but as parties were edging close to an agreement there are now doubts in the Argentine’s camp over the renewal.
The world champion had stopped all talk about his future prior to the 2022 Qatar World and it was expected that after the world cup negotiations would resume, however, this is proving to be elusive especially after the Parisian club board like last summer have opened the door to Neymar’s exit according to a French journalist Santi Aouna.
Neymar is the closest person to Lionel Messi in the dressing after the departure of fellow argentines Angel Di Maria and Leandro Peredes who now ply their trade with Italian giants Juventus.
Messi’s camp is still open to the extension of his time in Paris but with the possible departure of Neymar things look complicated for the French champions.
Possible options for the world cup winner are a sensational return to Barcelona although the move looks unlikely with the Catalan giants still in a financial quagmire and given the recent outburst by Messi’s brother who blasted the Spanish club of betraying Messi.
The argentine is also open to a move to David Beckham’s Inter Miami in MLS where he already purchased a holiday home.
However, it’s not all bad news for PSG as the contract extension of their skipper Marquinhos is being finalized and could be announced any time.
