After exiting Scotland for a Premier League move and now in the MLS, former Celtic midfielder, Victor Wanyama has confirmed that he would still like to play for Celtic.

From 2011 to 2013, the 30-year-old Kenyan, who now plays for CF Montreal, made his name in the Scottish Premier League, where he became a fan favorite. Now, after reports of a possible loan move to his former club, the first ever Kenyan to score in the Champions’ League seems to love the idea.

Wanyama, who had 60 caps for his nation before retiring this year, has had a successful career in the EPL, where he was the first Kenyan to play. When at both Southampton and Tottenham, he contributed to his teams’ performances, occasionally netting winning goals.

The Kenyan perhaps loves Celtic more than any other club he has played for, judging by the numerous praises he heaped on the Celts. “Celtic was a club that I would love to play for again and again…I enjoyed my time there,” he revealed.

Before retirement, the midfielder would like to go back to Celtic Park and relive the wonderful experience he had, and he loves everything about it. “I honestly want to come back…because I love the club, the people, the fans, just everything there was great,” quoted Football Scotland.

Despite accepting that a loan deal back to the club he obviously loves didn’t go through, Wanyama didn’t shy away from expressing his affection as he stated, “It is what it is. As I say, I still love that club. It’s in my heart.

The former Spurs man is a vital part in his current team’s line-ups, having played 26 games this season. But his heart perhaps doesn’t lie in Canada, and it’s left to see whether Ange will consider him to give Celtic the “destroyer” and quality they currently need.
