West Ham ace wants to quit club, trying to force transfer and not training
According to ExWHUemployee, a trustworthy source, Aaron Cresswell is keen to leave West Ham and join Wolves.
The outlet wrote on his Patreon account (27 July) that the experienced defender has been absent from West Ham’s training sessions this week as he tries to secure a move.
Wolves saw their £2.5m offer turned down by the Hammers, who want £5m for him, and they are now “urgently” looking for the money to make the deal happen, which is currently 50/50.
“The other potential candidates for the role are Aaron Cresswell, who hasn’t been training with West Ham this week as he looks to force his move to Wolves through,” he wrote.
“Cresswell is due to get a 2 year deal with a clause-related offering of a 3rd year which is obviously longer than his one year deal at West Ham.
“His wages are also said to be improved if Wolves can complete the deal. At the moment the deal is 50/50 with Wolves desperately trying to raise transfer funds for the veteran left back.”
Cresswell was not likely to depart the club this summer and was even a potential candidate to take over the armband after Declan Rice’s move to Arsenal.
He’s the most loyal player of the current first-team squad and was regarded as a role model in the dressing room.
But if he’s not training with the squad and is actively seeking a move away, then it’s puzzling that he is respected so much as he is disappointing himself and putting the club in a difficult situation.
West Ham have proven before that we are hard bargainers and we won’t be bullied, but realistically this is a situation where the player should be sold because it benefits everyone the most.
We get cash for someone who will be out of contract next year and who clearly doesn’t want to stay, and he gets to sign a longer deal on better wages elsewhere.
