West Ham have finally ‘accepted’ club’s offer for player
West Ham United striker Gianluca Scamacca finally seems to be nearing a move to Roma after the Hammers ‘agreed’ to their latest offer.
That’s according to Roma Giallorossa, who say the player is ‘ready to join’ his former club again now that a deal has been reached.
They explain that Roma director of football Tiago Pinto has been in touch with Scamacca in the last few days, when the player was in Rome, during which the final contractual points were sorted out with him and his agents.
The ‘real breakthrough’ on the potential transfer has been the agreement with West Ham, who are close to a replacement and thus open to a deal.
They have now agreed to an ‘expensive loan’ which will see Roma pay an initial €3-4m for a loan deal which will included an obligation to buy him for €20-21m.
That obligation is, however, dependent on certain sporting situations such as appearances, goals and Roma qualifying for the Champions League.
West Ham have been persuaded to do a deal though as Scamacca has been ‘pushing hard’ to return to Rome this summer and he is now set to get his wish fulfilled.
Before announcing it, Roma have to finalise exits but they are working on that front and Scamacca should be their new centre-forward sooner rather than later.
