According to TEAMtalk, Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United, West Ham United, and Patrick Vieira’s Crystal Palace are all vying for Leeds United full-back Cody Drameh.
Newcastle and Borussia Dortmund are reportedly interested in signing Leeds’ Drameh, who was dubbed “phenomenal” by former Cardiff City manager Steve Morison in WalesOnline in February 2022. This was revealed by The Daily Mail last month.
Drameh, a right-back by trade but can also play on the left, has made one appearance for Leeds this season in the Premier League and one in the Carabao Cup.
West Ham and Crystal Palace have reportedly joined Newcastle in the hunt to sign the 20-year-old, who has just over 18 months left on his current Elland Road contract.
According to the source, RB Leipzig is interested in the teenager, as are Middlesbrough and Norwich City in the Championship.
We believe that Leeds United won’t permit Cody Drameh to go in the January transfer window, especially permanently, to West Ham United and Newcastle United.
The 20-year-old might be able to receive some playing time if Leeds agrees to a loan agreement until the end of the season, but you have to wonder if Newcastle, Crystal Palace, or West Ham would give him that opportunity.
Leeds should either keep the full-back and allow him to develop under head coach Jesse Marsch or loan him out to a Championship team for the second half of the season.
